Robin Carpenter who grew up just half a block from the infamous Manayunk Wall shared his emotions about the event. “Every time going up the wall was just like hair-raising,” he said. “It’s just so loud. Your ears are literally ringing. You can’t hear anything else. On top of that, half of them were straight up calling my name, which is unreal.”
The Return of a Legendary Race
The Philadelphia Cycling Classic, which dates back to 1985 is renowned as one of America’s most prestigious international cycling events. The event attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators from around the world, eager to witness the thrilling races and vibrant festivities. On Saturday, August 29, 2026 the event kicked off with the Philadelphia Cycling Classic Amateur Time Trial sanctioned by USA Cycling. This 8-mile out and back course followed Martin Luther King Jr. Drive with a turnaround at the Falls Bridge. Charity Ride for AACR
Early on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 6:30 a.m. the Philadelphia Cycling Classic Charity Ride for AACR took place. Fan Festival
